  Ernest Russell Small

  Gifted multi-instrumentalist Ernest Russell Small wasn’t just an accomplished jazz musician. Mr. Small had a passion for sharing his love of music with students and inspiring others into music careers of their own. A Petaluma native, Mr. Small died on Dec. 28, 2009 from an invasive infection at the age of 79.

  An outdoorsman, Peter John Candage spent much of his free time camping, traveling, water skiing and going to NASCAR events. A longtime Petaluman, Mr. Candage died suddenly on Jan. 29, 2010 at the age of 64.

  A member of the pioneer Tomasetti and Moretti families, Aileen H. Bettinelli died on Monday, Feb. 1. She was 91.

  Friends and family are invited to attend a funeral mass for Alice Bonomi at 11 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 1 at St. James Catholic Church, 125 Sonoma Mountain Parkway. Mrs. Bonomi died on Jan. 25, 2010 at the age of 88.

  A longtime member of Petaluma United Methodist Church, Edith Lillian Kuehn died on Jan. 22, 2010 at the age of 95.

  A 60-year resident of Marshall, Harold R. Evans died on Jan. 21, 2010 at the age of 91.

• Scotty Bottarini

  Oklahoma native Scotty Bottarini came to California as a young woman and was working as manager of the bank at Hamilton Field when she met her husband, George Bottarini Sr. The two were inseparable during their 64 years of marriage, even when Mrs. Bottarini began suffering from Alzheimer’s and was moved to Adobe House. A longtime resident of Penngrove, Mrs. Bottarini died on Jan. 22, 2010 at the age of 94.

  A funeral mass for Richard Anthony Clarey will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 25 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 150 St. Joseph Way, Cotati. Mr. Clarey died on Jan. 19, 2010 at the age of 78.

  Family and friends are invited to attend a vigil service for Donald P. Lombardi at 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 25 at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 35 Liberty St., Petaluma. Mr. Lombardi died on Jan. 20, 2010 at the age of 61.
