All-league teams: St. Vincents Alyssa Garcia is NCL I South softball Most Valuable Player

Several spring sports all-league teams have been announced.

St. Vincent High School junior softball catcher Alyssa Garcia has been named Co-Most Valuable Player of the North Central League I South. She shared honors with Clear Lake senior Kaila Sterbank.
Garcia was not only one of the Lady Mustangs’ top hitters and an outstanding defensive catcher, she was a team leader who led by example.
Her hitting and defense were keys to St. Vincent’s NCL I South championship and second-place finish in the North Coast Section playoffs.
Garcia was joined on the NCL I South first team by teammates freshman Ashley Patton, senior D.J. Garcia and senior Anna McKenna.
Golf
Petaluma High freshman Matt Medeiros, the Sonoma County League tournament champion, was chosen to the All-SCL golf team, along with Daniel DalPoggeto of Casa Grande.
St. Vincent’s Vinnie Magliulo and Connor Brown were selected to the Coastal Mountain Conference South team.
Tennis
The four top players on Petaluma High’s unbeaten Sonoma County League champions were picked to the All-SCL tennis team. Max Marshall, Cooper Reynolds, Jack Montero and White Strain were all selected. All are seniors.
Casa Grande junior Kenny Campbell was also named to the all-league team.
Badminton
Alicia Aicpuru of Casa Grande, a junior, was named to the All-North Bay League badminton team
Casa’s Imran Karim, a senior, was chosen to the boys first team.
Kim Gaul, a junior from Petaluma, received honorable mention notice, as did Tyslon Hernandez and Brett Ladd of Casa Grande. Both are juniors.
Petaluma’s Kevin Enriquez and Casa Grande’s Nate Wasen were among those who received Rookie of the Year accolades.
