Petaluma Bounty launches mobile market
Last Modified: Thursday, July 9, 2009 at 3:33 p.m.
Local farm fresh veggies are becoming easier to get a hold of thanks to Petaluma Bounty’s new Bounty Mobile Market.
The moving vegetable market will make five stops through Petaluma Tuesday through Thursday of each week offering produce at wholesale prices to low income eligible customers, and at retail prices for those who can afford it.
“We are really excited to offer this mobile market program to the community,” said Grayson James, Petaluma Bounty executive director. “It allows us to make fresh food available to many more low income families and seniors at affordable prices.”
The Bounty Mobile Market schedule is as follows: 2 to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday in the McDowell Elementary School parking lot, 421 S. McDowell Blvd.; 4:20 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Boys and Girls Club of Petaluma, 203 Maria Drive; 8 to 10 a.m. at McDowell Elementary School behind the multipurpose room on McGregor Avenue; noon to 2 p.m. at Carstensen’s Farm Stand, 490 Casa Grande Road; and 9:15 to 11 a.m. at Elim Lutheran Church, corner of Stanley and Baker streets.
