A walking trail around Petaluma’s new sewer treatment plant will open Friday, July 31, adding almost three miles of public access to the wetlands area south of town.
The trail begins at the south end of the Shollenberger Park loop, and when opened, will create an 8-mile round trip for walkers who start at the Sheraton hotel entrance to Alman Marsh.
The trail, which will open the same day as the Ellis Creek Water Recycling Facility, will be open from dawn to dusk every day.
The address is 3890 Cypress Drive, off the South McDowell Boulevard extension.
