New planning body to hold workshop
Last Modified: Wednesday, August 5, 2009 at 12:50 p.m.
The newly re-formed Petaluma Planning Commission will meet for the first time Thursday at a training workshop on planning and legal issues.
The commission, made up of six regular members and two additional members who participate in decisions about historic properties, will take on the duties of its former version and the Site Plan and Architectural Review Committee.
The council dissolved those bodies in July and named six of 17 applicants to the new commission. A council liaison will serve as a seventh member.
Thursday’s workshop will cover the commission’s role, jurisdiction, the development review process and laws affecting the commission.
The workshop begins at 3 p.m. at the Petaluma Community Center, 320 N. McDowell Blvd.
The commission’s first meeting will be Tuesday, Aug. 11.
