The Petaluma Planning Commission will hold a public hearing Tuesday, Aug. 25 on the draft environmental impact report for East Washington Place, a proposed Target-anchored shopping center.

The draft EIR, released this summer, evaluates the 380,000-square-foot development proposal for the former Kenilworth Junior High School site at East Washington Street and Highway 101.

In addition to Target, the project would include several large retail spaces, along with smaller shops featuring second-story offices.

The draft EIR recommends developer Regency Centers enhance a pedestrian plaza area and improve bicycle access to lessen the project’s impact on air emissions and traffic.

The Planning Commission meeting begins at 7 p.m. at City Hall, 11 English St.
