Adobe state park expected to close on weekdays

<p>Although spared from a permanent closure earlier this year, Petaluma Adobe State Historic Park will likely be subject to weekday closures, officials said.</p><!-- Nothing to do. The paragraph has already been output --><p>As part of the state’s plan to cut some $14 million from the budget without permanently closing parks, the Adobe will be closed to the public Mondays through Fridays.</p><p>The park will remain open on weekends and will continue to host school groups Tuesdays through Thursdays, said Mary Pass, a state parks superintendent.</p><p>The park is the site of Gen. Mariano Vallejo’s mud-brick ranch house, built in 1834. It served as the headquarters of the Mexican general’s vast North Bay landholdings and was purchased by the state in 1951.</p><p>The weekday closures will likely last at least through the end of the fiscal year in June, Pass said.</p><p>— Argus-Courier</p>
