The Petaluma Police Department will be conducting two DUI and driver’s license checkpoints on the evening of Friday, March 19 to detect and deter impaired driving, as well as to locate unlicensed drivers and those driving with suspended licenses.
Police are not revealing in advance the time and location of the checkpoints.
The operations are being conducted to raise awareness of impaired driving by educating motorists, and arresting impaired drivers and those who are not properly licensed, said Sgt. Ken Savano.
Funding for these operations is provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
