The “King” is coming: Elvis Presley fans, get ready! The Petaluma Museum is giving residents a chance to showcase their Elvis memorabilia in what will be the largest tribute to the “King of Rock ’n’ Roll” in the Bay Area.

The Petaluma Museum presents, “Elvis! Grace and Grit,” March 31 through June 30.

The exhibit, “Elvis! Grace and Grit,” opens at the museum on March 31 with a museum members preview party at 6 p.m., followed by an opening reception for the public at 7 p.m. The Elvis exhibit will be on display through June 30. Anyone with items for the exhibit should call the Petaluma Museum at 778-4398.

Growing food sustainability: Ruth Persselin from Petaluma Bounty will be the featured guest speaker at Heritage Homes of Petaluma’s first general meeting of the year on March 18. Persselin will be speaking on Petaluma Bounty’s efforts to create a sustainable food system in Petaluma that’s fresh, healthy and affordable. The meeting is from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Seed Bank, corner of Washington Street and Petaluma Boulevard North. The public is welcome to attend.

A Day for Women: A diverse group of dedicated Petaluma business professionals are teaming up with the Women’s Cancer Awareness Group to host a one-day conference for women in the community on April 17. A Day for Women will feature a health and wellness marketplace, keynote speakers and breakout sessions exploring topics such as yoga, aging and health. Nominations are also being sought for the Petaluma Woman of the Year award. The winner of the award will be honored at the conference. Nominations are due by March 24 and may be made by e-mailing wcagroup@yahoo.com. Tickets to the all-day conference are $25. Tickets are also available on a sliding scale for those who want to attend, but can’t afford to. For more information and to register, call 769-8325.

Raising money for Haiti: Petaluma Textile & Design is working together with Petaluma Students Helping Haiti to organize a fund-raiser for survivors of the Haiti earthquake. The all-day event is from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, March 20 and features a silent auction, bake sale by Petaluma High School students and a variety of handmade items for sale such as art, pottery and jewelry. “All of the day’s proceeds are going to Haiti through Mercy Corps,” said shop owner Desiree Rickwood. “I’ve coordinated it with them to make sure that all the money we raise that day goes specifically to Haiti.” Petaluma Textile & Design is located at 125 Washington St. For more information, call 765-2771.
