Four people were injured in two crashes that occurred within 90 minutes on southbound Highway 101 on Thursday.

In the first incident, which occurred at around 7:05 a.m. just north of the Petaluma River Bridge, a Volvo 740 station wagon rear-ended a GMC Canyon pickup and pushed it into a Dodge Charger, said California Highway Patrol sources.

The pickup driver, Christopher Holmes, 41 of Windsor and his passenger, Moises Valasquez, 29, of Petaluma, were taken to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital for treatment of apparent minor injuries, as well as evaluation.

A lane was closed and traffic was delayed as them men were removed from the vehicle, the sources said.

Around 90 minutes later, a pickup was rear-ended by a Freightliner truck just south of Highway 116 in Cotati. The driver of the Ford F150 truck, Rafael Farias, 46, and Efren Fuentes, 36, both of Santa Rosa, complained of pain from the accident and were transported to local hospitals.
