Four local pupils heading to county spelling bee

Four Petaluma students will be participating in the Sonoma County Elementary Spelling Competition in Santa Rosa on Monday, March 29.


The students were among the top five finishers in the South County Regional Spelling Bee, held at Corona Creek Elementary School on March 3. They are: sixth-grader Lilly Reinstein of McNear Elementary School, who placed first; sixth-grader Calvin Jin from Harvest Christian school, who finished second; sixth-grader Erin Martin from Two Rock Elementary School, who placed fourth; and fifth-grader Sarah Jane Catarozoli from Valley Vista Elementary School, who finished fifth.

The county spelling bee will take place from 4 to 6:30 p.m. at the Sonoma County Office of Education, at 5340 Skylane Blvd. in Santa Rosa.
