‘Troubling inaction’

Editor: Your editorial about the Petaluma Wildlife Museum (Aug. 26) raised a number of good questions. You mention that the Petaluma School District’s inaction is troubling and, indeed, I am troubled — not just by the museum issue, but also by the assault of (Petaluma High School student) Declan Villa, and by a variety of internal issues, as well.
The appointment of Mike Baddeley (to finish out Lou Steinberg’s term) can be seen as a continuation of the board’s support of the current superintendent and of the “troubling inaction” of the district.
I urge all citizens to become educated about our local schools and the candidates running for the Board of Education, and vote in a board that will help us restore our district. These are truly challenging times in education and we can’t afford inaction.
We have three fabulous candidates, Sheri Chlebowski, Jaimey Walking Bear and Christina Kauk, willing to help Petalumans. Please remember to vote in the November election.
