Three 15-year-old boys were arrested for burglary and taken to Sonoma County Juvenile Hall on Tuesday morning after a woman found them fleeing from her backyard on Astoria Circle on Tuesday.
When she returned home at around 9 a.m., the victim spotted the boys. Police came to the scene, and found two of them on Wren Drive and the third at his high school, said Officer Patrick Gerke of the Petaluma Police Department.
The suspects know the victim's teenage children through their high school, but the victim's children had no knowledge of the theft, Gerke said.
The suspects took electronic equipment and other personal items from the home, and the property later was recovered and returned to the victim.
No other suspects were involved in the incident, Gerke said.
