The CHP continued Tuesday to investigate the fatal crash Sunday that killed Danny Cox, 19, of Petaluma.
Cox, who was disabled, was driving his handicap-adapted Dodge Magnum wagon about 5:45 p.m. Sunday on Highway 101 near Olompali State Park when the car ran off the road and into a tree.
Cox died in the crash. He was alone in the car.
He had recently received his driver's license after being paralyzed from the chest down a year ago today in a diving accident at South Lake Tahoe.
Witnesses to the crash said Cox was traveling at between 60 and 70 mph. No skid marks were found to indicate he attempted to brake.
A CHP spokesman said his agency had nothing new to report Tuesday about potential causes of the crash.
Funeral arrangements were pending. A family friend said there may be a private family event and a larger community memorial.
A golf tournament scheduled for Sept. 10 to help the family raise funds to pay for Cox's medical costs related to his medical treatment within the last year will go on.
