Two leaders who shaped Petaluma's Telecom Valley and a couple known for promoting agriculture will be inducted Thursday into the Sonoma County Business Hall of Fame.
The ceremony, sponsored by the Sonoma County Economic Development Board, will honor high-tech entrepreneur Don Green, developer Bill White and grape growers Rich and Saralee Kunde.
Green has been called the “Father of Telecom Valley.” He helped found several Petaluma networking equipment companies, including Advanced Fibre Communications.
White co-founded Basin Street Properties and was a key developer of telecom office space and the new theater district in downtown Petaluma.
The Kundes have been called “the first couple of Sonoma County agriculture” and routinely host events at their Windsor farm. Rich Kunde for decades owned Sonoma Grapevines nursery and was among the first to promote the use of appellations to designate the county's grape regions.
