Casa Grande High's Gauchos made Senior Night not only memorable, but happy Saturday, running roughshod over Healdsburg's Greyhounds, 69-34.

Scott Mayer (4) and his Casa teammates played tenacious defense in their win over Healdsburg.
Sumner Fowler/For the Argus-CourierHealdsburg, earlier in the season, had beaten the Gauchos, 39-37 in the Greyhound gym.
Things were considerably different Saturday. After being honored for their career-long contribution to the Casa court cause, those veterans, perhaps playing their final game in the coach Ed Iacopi Gymnasum, went out and put an impressive whipping on a pretty good Greyhound team.
While the Gaucho defense prevented the Greyhounds from even sniffing a decent shot, the Casa Grande offense, led by Chase Stafford, riddled the Greyhounds from inside and out.
Stafford sizzled home a 3-pointer to start the game, came back with a short jump shot, and before the Greyhounds knew what was happening, they trailed, 11-0.
Healdsburg didn't get its first point until six minutes into the game, and that was a free throw by Cameron Lutz. The halftime tally was 33-17, and the second half didn't get much better for the Greyhounds, as Casa Grande coach James Forni rotated his roster with similar dominating results no matter who was on the court.
Highlight of the second half was a resounding slam by Casa's 6-foot, 7-inch center Austin Mattos.
Stafford finished at home with 20 points, four assists, three rebounds and a blocked shot. Mattos had a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds, and also blocked four shots. Matt Dassel scored two points, but passed out eight assists. He also had three rebounds and blocked a shot.
As a team, Casa Grande made only six turnovers in the game.
Lutz led Healdsburg with 11 points.
Casa Grande is now 7-4 against Sonoma County League opposition and 15-10 on the season with only a game Thursday at Windsor against the league-leading Jaguars left on its regular-season agenda.
Healdsburg is now 5-6 in league and 13-12 overall.
