Petaluma police seek information on busted-open safe

<p>Someone left an empty, busted-open safe outside of a Petaluma strip mall Monday afternoon and Petaluma police believe it could have come from a recent burglary.</p><p>The discarded safe was found at about 4 p.m., sitting in a shopping cart outside of businesses on Lakeville Highway, reported Lt. Tim Lyons.</p><p>Its door had been pried off and it was empty.</p><p>Police are checking records to see if the Sentry brand, model 2206 was reported missing from any recent burglaries.</p><p>Lyons asked anyone with information about the safe to contact Officer Nick Raccanello at 778-4372.</p>
