With the blessing of Kim Conover's family, the group Guided to Safety, which works to prevent domestic violence and is affiliated with V-Day Petaluma, has created an account at Summit State Bank to raise money for the four children left behind by Sunday's shooting.

To raise money for that fund, several local stores and restaurants are holding benefits over the next two weeks. The first is the night of Thursday, April 19 at Pongo's Kitchen & Tap on Sonoma Mountain Parkway.

The "dine and donate" event will take place from 6:00pm to 8:00 p.m., with 20% of Pongo's proceeds and one hundred percent of the band, Calm & Chaos', merchandise proceeds going to the Conover and Sullivan account. A representative from the bank will be there for anyone who wants to make an additional donation.

The next planned event will take place on Thursday, April 26th, when Beyond the Glory will be hosting a similar, all-day event. A portion of the day's total will be donated to Guided to Safety's fund and every dollar raised will be matched by the owners.

Then, on April 27, Ooh La Loft will donate ten percent of the day's proceeds to the cause.

The next event will take place on May 3, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. So far, four restaurants — Blu, Sugo,

Café Giostra and Food Bar are participating and will donate a portion of their gross sales to the fund.

Anyone wishing to simply donate can also visit Summit State Bank and make a deposit in the name of Guided to Safety (GTS) Conover & Sullivan children, or mail a check to Guided to Safety at P.O. Box 4716, 94955-4716.
