SMART closures continue

The railroad crossing on East Washington Street near Lakeville Highway remained closed on Thursday, causing significant traffic delays.
Police advised drivers to plan alternate routes and allow extra time to get to their destination.
SMART will be also be closing the Corona Road railroad crossing again next Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012 to repair the dip in the roadway created when they installed new crossing panels recently.
According to police, many motorists have reported the dip at the new crossing. City officials investigated and SMART acknowledged the crossing needs to be repaired.
The repair work is scheduled to take all day on Oct. 11.
