SMART will be closing the Corona Road railroad crossing again next Thursday, Oct. 11 to repair the dip in the roadway created when they installed the new crossing panels.
Many motorists have noticed the dip when they drive across the new crossing. City officials investigated and SMART has acknowledged the condition needs to be repaired. To correct the problem, the crossing will again have to be closed. It is scheduled to be closed all day on Thursday, Oct. 11 and is expected to take only one day.
This was announced as the crossing at East Washington Street remains closed today causing significant traffic delays. This crossing was tentatively scheduled to be completed today. The crossing at D Street remains on the list of closures still scheduled.
Motorists are advised to plan alternate routes and allow extra time to get to your destination.
