In recognition of National Fire Prevention Week, CAL FIRE Sonoma-Lake-Napa Unit will hold an open house at the Petaluma CAL FIRE Station from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday Oct. 13 at the CAL FIRE station located at 655 Lohrman Lane.
The open house provides an opportunity for the public to visit with local CAL FIRE firefighters and tour the fire station. Fire trucks, a dozer and fire fighting equipment will be on display. Fire prevention education and literature will be available to assist your family on preparing, planning and practicing for an emergency.
The 2012 National Fire Prevention Week theme is “Have 2 Ways Out." CAL FIRE Sonoma-Lake-Napa Unit Chief Tim Streblow encourages every family to identify and practice “two ways out of their home." He also states “having two accesses from your property, during a wildland fire, is an essential as part of your evacuation plan."
