T-Girls defeat Novato

<p>After a couple of scrimmages and a foundation game, Petaluma High School's girls basketball team opened its season with an impressive 41-37 win over Novato. </p><p>The difference in the close game was a 20-point final period for Petaluma's T-Girls. </p><p>Joelle Krist led the T-Girls with 10 points, with Kierra Lizama adding eight, Sophie Bihn six and Katy Bisges five. Allison Scranton pulled down 11 rebounds and Bisges nine for Petaluma. </p><p>Novato's Maddie Tomsky was a dominant factor in the middle for Novato with 17 rebounds and eight blocked shots. </p><p>Petaluma will play in the Anne Scott Tournament at Drake High School in Terra Linda this week, opening Thursday at 5:30 p.m. against Tamalpais. </p><p>Drake and Fairfield are the other teams in the tournament which runs through Saturday.</p>
