An avid local sports fan and umpire, Orville Larry Creech Sr. was the self-proclaimed “humble country boy” who was known to creatively voice his opinion from the stands.

Mr. Creech died at his home in Smithfield, Utah on Nov. 24, 2012 at the age of 72.
Born in Atkinson, Kan., Mr. Creech was a longtime Petaluma resident. He could be seen wearing his trademark cowboy hat and boots at Casa Grande and Petaluma High School sporting events since the 1980s.
He is survived by his wife, Dianne; children Kristi, Donna, Larry Jr., Randy and Kathy; grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife, Joann.
Memorial services were held in Utah.
