A Lake County jail escapee was back in custody this week after he allegedly climbed a fence and tasted freedom for a few days.
David Allen Brown, 22, was arrested late Wednesday night in a Clearlake home by police and sheriff's deputies who were provided with information on where he was hiding.
Brown disappeared Sunday night from the minimum security Lake County Hill Road Correctional Facility near Lakeport.
He had been in custody since April, convicted of resisting arrest, violating his parole from a prior felony conviction, being under the influence of drugs, car theft and possessing stolen property, according to Sheriff's Lt. Steve Brooks.
He was not scheduled to be released until next December.
Brown was booked back into the Hill Road facility with additional charges of escape from custody and petty theft.
