A reward is being offered for leads in the death of a Santa Rosa man who died after an apparent hit-and-run on Jan. 4 in northwest Santa Rosa.
Police announced Friday that a $2,500 reward was posted for information leading to an arrest and conviction in the death of Mike Nunes, 62.
Nunes died as the result of his injuries two days after being found unconscious around 9 p.m. on the side of Peterson Lane, near Guerneville Road.
Nunes worked as a cashier at a gas station and was found around the corner from where he lived on Partridge Court. Family members believe he may have been out walking to a nearby service station when he was struck by a vehicle.
The only suspect description was possibly a white vehicle with loud exhaust, police said.
The reward comes from the "Take Back Our Community Fund" sponsored by Sonoma County Alliance.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Officer Matt Sanchez at 543-3600.
