The remains of a body found by a hiker in Fort Bragg two weeks ago has been identified as a missing businesswoman, according to the Mendocino County Sheriff's Office.
Colleen Murphy, 69, who was last seen Nov. 28, died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound in an apparent suicide, according to the county coroner.
Murphy's body was found Jan. 23 near the California Pacific Railroad tracks two miles east of Fort Bragg.
Employees at Murphy's business reported that she had been despondent.
