She attended St. Rose and Ursuline schools and was a Miss Sonoma County contestant in the mid-'60s.

Her first job was as a cashier and usher at the original Roxy Theater in Santa Rosa and she also worked for the phone company.

Her career, however, was as a waitress at Negri's restaurant in Occidental, where she worked for 39 years.

“She enjoyed it; she was a people person,” said her cousin, Ernest Bondi of Santa Rosa. “A lot of people know her from working at Negri's.”

After retirement, she also worked during the holiday seasons at the Toy and Model in Coddingtown, and enjoyed playing bingo and attending the horse races at the Sonoma County Fair.

She is survived by a daughter, Traci Kawa of Healdsburg, and two grandsons.

At her request, there will be no services.
