Gordon E. Boles

<p>Gordon E. Boles began his career in firefighting working for the Bessemer Alabama Fire Department. After moving to California in 1967, he reported for duty at the Petaluma Fire Deparment, where he worked as a firefighter until his retirement.</p><p>Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral service for Mr. Boles at 2 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 28 at the Santa Rosa First Church of God, 4001 Roblar Road in Petaluma.</p><p>Born in Lacy Springs, Ala., Mr. Boles grew up with eight sisters and one brother.</p><p>After retiring from the Petaluma Fire Department, he started a second career as manager of the Calibration Department at Opto-Electronics in Petaluma. </p><p>He is survived by his children, Rebecca Allen of Petaluma and Victoria Risinger of Magnolia, Texas; grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and siblings, Thelma Hogg, Nellie Brooks, Louise Dean, all of Alabama. He was predeceased by his siblings, Paul Boles, Edna Boles, Mary Shadrick, Daisy Shadrick, Irene Dunn, and Norma Alexander.</p>
