A fire that began in the bedroom of a Petaluma home early Thursday morning was contained without any injuries, fire officials reported.
The homeowner on 2025 Caulfield Lane was sleeping when she heard a hallway smoke detector ring. She woke up, got out of bed, saw a fire in a back bedroom and closed its door. The homeowner then left the house with her dog and called 911.
The Petaluma Fire Department responded around 1 a.m. and found the resident in her driveway. The crews extinguished the small fire quickly, preventing further damage to the home, fire officials said.
