Two people received medical treatment Friday afternoon after a fire ripped through a house at The Sea Ranch.

The second floor of the two-story home on Green Vale Close was engulfed in flames as crews from Cal Fire, South Coast Fire and Timber Cove fire departments tried to quash the blaze.

“The upstairs (was) fully involved,” Cal Fire Capt. Kelly Blue said.

Earlier reports that two people had received burns in the blaze were downgraded Friday afternoon. Two people received medical treatment for injuries that were not burns and they were not taken to the hospital.

Damage to the structure was estimated at $400,000 and did not include the contents of the house, which was primarily a vacation rental, according to officials.

The house was occupied but no one was home at the time of the Friday afternoon blaze.
