St. Vincent High School’s Lady Mustang softball team came up with their most impressive win of the season in the Ukiah Tournament, rallying for two runs in the last of the seventh inning for a 5-4 over the North Bay League’s Montgomery Lady Vikings. Trailing 4-3 going into their last chance, the Lady Mustangs rallied on a single by Morgan Selmi, a sacrifice by Hannah Sarlatte, Ursyla Baumgarten’s game-tying triple and a long drive to right-center field by Hannah Upton to win the game.
Sarlatte earned the pitching win, working five strong innings in relief of Hayley Olson, who had to retire after two innings because of an injury. Sarlat5te allowed just two runs on seven hits, striking out two and not walking a batter.
Baumgarten accounted for two of the five St. Vincent hits and drove in two of its five runs.
Now 3-6 on the season, the St. Vincent girls play at Tomales Friday afternoon.
