Strong winds pushed a 130-foot redwood tree into an apartment complex in northern Santa Rosa Monday, reported a Central Fire official.
Firefighters evacuated the 11-unit apartment complex until the tree could be cut up and removed, said Central Fire Battalion Chief Joe Giordani.
The huge tree fell into the Mark West Springs Road building at about 4 p.m.
Damage was minimal but there was potential for more and the owner hired a crane and tree service to remove the tree, Giordani said.
