FREMONT — A 29-year-old woman is being held without bail after being charged in the beating death of her 74-year-old father.
The Contra Costa Times reports (http://bit.ly/12CMa6C ) Megan O'Connell was arrested after Fremont police responded to a report of a domestic dispute and found Navarro Esquerra lying in a puddle of blood on the kitchen floor of a home around 7:15 p.m. Thursday.
The newspaper says that Esquerra's wife called police and told officers that after going to the home in violation of a restraining order, O'Connell argued with her father and hit him over the head with an unknown object.
Police say O'Connell was still at the house when officers arrived and struggled with the officers before they arrested her.
Her father was taken to a local trauma center, where he was pronounced dead.
