The Petaluma FFA team is making plans to represent the United States in the Royal Highland Livestock Exposition in Edinburgh, Scotland in June.

The Petaluma team earned the trip by winning the Dairy Cattle Evaluation Career Development Event at the National FFA Convention and Expo in Indianapolis last October.

The Petaluma team consists of Alexandra Gambonini, Francesca Gambonini, Jessie Jones and Regina Pozzi. The competition includes an evaluation of six classes of dairy cattle, oral reasons, herd record evaluation and a dairy management team activity.

Over the past few years, the Petaluma team has competed at local, state and national events culminating in its trip to the Royal Highland competition.

To help finance the trip to Scotland, the dairy judging team will host a pasta feed fundraiser on April 29 at Lagunitas Brewing Company.

Dinner will be served from 5:30 until 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $12 a person if purchased in advance or $15 at the door. In addition to an pasta dinner, there will be a silent auction.

To purchase tickets or for more information about how to help the team, contact Stacey Gambonini at 481-2457 or by e-mail at calpenney@hughes.net or Kim Arntz at karntz@petk12.org.
