The Petaluma Educational Foundation will celebrate the 37 localkindergarten through 12th grade public, not-for profit private and charter schools it supports with a special PEF/Giants Night at AT&T Park on Thursday, May 9.
As part of the line up, Petaluma school students will take the field prior to the Giants’ game against the Atlanta Braves to perform the National Anthem for an expected crowd of more than 40,000. Over 175 Petaluma area students, under the instruction of Petaluma Junior High music director Preston Bailey, will perform live as part of this community event in support of the 31-year-old non-profit organization. The collective ensemble includes three bands and a choir from Petaluma junior highs, the elementary schools philharmonic and an ensemble from Petaluma High School.
Each year PEF partners with the San Francisco Giants to provide the students an opportunity to showcase their collective talents during a regular season game.
Students practice for months in advance, board the chartered bus for the stadium and proudly take the field representing their town.
Families, friends and baseball fans can all share in the special evening by purchasing tickets from PEF. Special seating in the View Reserve section is available for $32 per ticket through PEF. For more information, contact the PEF office at 200 Douglas St. or call 778-5063.
