The Petaluma Fire Department received 39 medical and 60 fire or other emergency calls from May 13 through May 19. Here are some of the calls.

Tuesday, May 14

7:11 p.m. — Firefighters rushed to 1372 N. McDowell Blvd. to fight a structure fire. They found smoke coming from the packaging and processing facility for Lydia’s Organics. Apparently smoke was coming from a laundry area which also housed a hot water heater. No flames were seen. Firefighters determined the cause of the smoke to be a box of oily rags that had been washed and stored in a plastic bin. The rags may have been put in the bin while still hot, causing the fire.

Wednesday, May 15

6:48 a.m. — Firefighters headed to Highway 101 South for a report of a motorcycle accident. One man was taken to the hospital.

7:24 p.m. — Firefighters went to 224 B St. to extinguish a fire reported on the railroad trestle behind Applebox Café. An employee of a nearby business had extinguished the flame prior to the firefighters arriving, but then it started to flare up again. They extinguished the blaze.

9:19 p.m — Units rushed to Highway 101 North for a rollover accident on the freeway involving a car that struck a tow truck. The driver of the car that rolled over was taken to the hospital.

Thursday, May 16

5:33 p.m. — Responders headed to the 4825 Bodega Ave. for a vehicle accident. One person was taken to the hospital.

Friday, May 17

2:31 p.m. — A bicycle accident on 1st Street required units to provide care to a man complaining of hip pain. No other vehicle was involved. The man was taken to the hospital.

Saturday, May 18

8:34 p.m. — There was a crash involving a motor vehicle and a bicycle at 1390 N. McDowell Blvd. One man was in minor distress and was taken to the hospital.
