Mendocino authorities Wednesday were still searching for a Fort Bragg man whose car was found running and unoccupied on a remote stretch of Highway 1.
A 1999 Cadillac Deville belonging to Patrick Guzman, 70, was spotted Monday in a pullout near Westport, Mendocino Sheriff's Sgt. Joseph Comer said in a statement.
Westport is a remote coastal town about 15 miles north of Fort Bragg.
A woman first saw the car at about 10 a.m. Monday parked in the pullout. She stopped after seeing the car was still there at about 1:30 p.m. and noticed the engine was running, Comer said.
She called authorities after trying to find a person nearby associated with the car.
A CHP officer and sheriff's deputies searched the area and visited Guzman's home in the northern outskirts of Fort Bragg but found no sign of the man, according to Comer.
Authorities also haven't been able to reach Guzman's family.
Anyone with information about the case can call the Sheriff's Office at 961-2421.
