Southbound Lakeville Highway was open Friday after a five-car crash blocked the roadway for several hours, however traffic was still backed up following the morning crash.
The 11 a.m. collision near Sonoma Raceway’s Cougar Mountain gate about a half-mile north of Highway 37 demolished a travel trailer, sending debris across the roadway, Officer Jon Sloat said.
Initial reportts indicated the crash involved a big rig, Toyota SUV, Dodge pickup and a tan SUV. No injuries were reported in the crash.
Southbound traffic lane was opened by 1:40 p.m. and northbound motorists were being diverted to Old Lakeville Road No. 3, Sloat said.
Traffic was at a standstill for miles, with people getting out of their vehicles and standing along the road, although CHP officers were asking motorists to stay in their cars.
