Colin Kaepernick made enough plays to keep the 49ers on top. It just wasn't his day to play a starring role.
Everyone got into the act today, but it was Frank Gore who had the biggest impact with 81 rushing yards.
An extremely quiet day until TE Vernon Davis' 64-yard scoring catch in the fourth quarter.
The run blocking was superb. On the other hand, Houston DE JJ Watt terrorized Anthony Davis on pass plays.
Ray McDonald had a sack and his replacement, Tony Jerod-Eddie, had an interception.
NaVorro Bowman's 13 tackles weren't a surprise. Michael Wilhoite's 11 were.
Passing downs were a nightmare for the Texans. Nickel back Tramaine Brock came up big with 2 interceptions.
Superb kickoff coverage kept the Texans in a hole all day. Phil Dawson nailed both field-goal attempts.
The 49ers looked like the best team in the NFC West today.
