Authorities deployed spike strips Saturday night on Highway 101 near Cotati to end a vehicle chase that originated in Novato.
The CHP said Ryan Angelo Schomberg, 23, of Sacramento was driving erratically at about 8:30 p.m. Saturday when a Marin County sheriff's deputy tried pulling the car over in Novato.
Authorities pursued the 2010 Hyundai Sonata, which was registered to Schomberg, north into Sonoma County. The vehicle rolled over spike strips placed near the exit to Highway 116 and eventually stopped near Rohnert Park Expressway, about 15 minutes after the pursuit began.
Schomberg was arrested on suspicion of failing to yield to emergency vehicles. He also was administered tests for driving under the influence, CHP Officer Marcus Hawkins said.
