Casa girls pick up scoring in win over Ukiah

Brooke Santander poured in 22 points, pulled down five rebounds and made five steals to lead the Casa Grande High School girls basketball team to a 63-47 win over Ukiah Thursday night.
Casa Grande outlasted Ukiah's visiting Wildcats to even its North Bay League record at 2-2. The game was close until the final quarter, with the Gauchos leading, 27-25, at the half and, 40-35, after three quarters before putting the game away with 21 fourth-quarter points.
Angela Llavaias scored 12 points, while Meagan Burke and Sara Langdon each scored eight for Casa. Langdon highlighted the Gaucho defensive effort with five steals.
Courtney Mee led Ukiah with 13, with Rachel Rudick adding 10.
The Gauchos are 8-5 on the season going into a game tonight at Rancho Cotate.
