The smell of alcohol coming from a driver who'd just crashed into another vehicle late Wednesday afternoon led to her arrest, Petaluma police said.
Kwi Kang, 38, of San Francisco was backing out of a driveway on North McDowell Boulevard when she turned into the path of an oncoming car and the two vehicles collided.
Airbags in the victim's car deployed and that driver suffered minor injuries.
Officers investigated whether Kang had been drinking, saying they could smell alcohol.
They found she had a blood alcohol level of .08 and arrested her on suspicion of felony drunken driving, due to the injuries to the other driver, police said.
The crash on the major eastside thoroughfare occurred just after 5 p.m.
