First SCL win for Trojans

The Petaluma High School boys basketball team recorded its first Sonoma County League win of the season Thursday night, rallying in the second half for a 49-34 win over Healdsburg.

Playing at home, Petaluma led just 24-23 at the half, but used a tenacious defense to hold the Greyhounds to just 11 second-half points.

Joe Lynch led the Trojans with 16, with Johnny Molinari adding 12. Cody Newman scored 11 for Healdsburg.

The win followed a strong effort by the Trojans against league unbeaten Analy in a 56-40 loss in a game played in Sebastopol.

Ben Sanderson had a big game for the Trojans with 14 points. Malcolm Jenkins led Analy with 21.

Petaluma is now 1-4 in league and 3-15 on the season with El Molino coming into the Petaluma gym on Tuesday.
