The Petaluma Fire Department received 37 medical and 90 fire or other emergency calls from Jan. 20 through Jan. 26. Here are some of the calls.
Monday, Jan. 20
7:55 a.m. -#8212; Firefighters headed to Highway 101 North after a two-car accident was reported. A grey Ford hit a white Ford pick-up, and the occupant of one vehicle, a 47-year-old Novato woman, was complaining of chest pains. She was taken by ambulance to the hospital from the scene.
Thursday, Jan. 23
7:30 p.m. -#8212; A golf cart accident was reported in the 1200 block of Jacobsen Lane. When firefighters arrived, they learned the golf cart had rolled over, injuring a 60-year-old Petaluma man. The patient was taken to Petaluma Valley Hospital for treatment.
Friday, Jan. 24
4:48 p.m. -#8212; Firefighters went to Casa Grande Road after a two-car accident was reported. The occupants of one vehicle were unharmed, while the two occupants in the second vehicle both complained of pain. Neither of the patients spoke English, which added to some confusion at the scene, but both the 47-year-old Petaluma man and the 48-year-old Petaluma woman were quickly taken to Petaluma Valley Hospital.
Saturday, Jan. 25
4:32 p.m. -#8212; A car accident was reported on Caulfield Lane. One driver, a 49-year-old Petaluma woman, was transported to Kaiser Hospital in Terra Linda for treatment.
Sunday, Jan. 26
1:50 p.m. -#8212; A small grass fire was reported on Petaluma Boulevard North along the river bank. They discovered a smoldering bush in a 10-by-12 enclosed planter. The report notes, "Probably the work of a carelessly discarded cigarette." Firefighters wetted down the area and hand tools were used to ensure the heat sources were completely extinguished.
