Two Petaluma residents were arrested Thursday morning after a Petaluma Police Officer spotted a reported stolen vehicle parked in a driveway in the 1600 block of Weaverly Drive.

The vehicle, a 2013 Subaru Legacy, was reported stolen from Hertz. Police said Lisa Lynch, 51, a Petaluma resident, was listed as a known suspect in the theft.

After the vehicle was spotted by Petaluma police Officer Ron Klein, Petaluma officers, with the assistance of the Sonoma County Auto Theft Task Force, conducted surveillance at the residence. According to police, at 11:29 a.m., three persons entered the vehicle and drove away on Weaverly Drive. Police units waiting in the area conducted a high-risk traffic stop at Ely Boulevard and Willow Street.

Lynch was arrested on a $10,000 warrant for auto theft. Michael Lyons, 48, also a Petaluma resident, was arrested for alleged possession of heroin, possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. He also had a $50,000 warrant for possession of drugs. Both Lyons and Lynch were booked at the Sonoma County Jail. A passenger in the vehicle was detained and later released without charges.
