Thieves target Ford trucks

Be on the look-out if you own a Ford F350 pick-up work truck with a utility box, the Petaluma Police Department said thieves are targeting vehicles of this make and model in town.

Since Wednesday morning, two Ford trucks were reported stolen. Both were taken from the east side of Petaluma, over two consecutive nights. Both were taken from in front of the owners' residences.

A bronze 2006 Ford F350 with the name Critchfield Mechanical Inc. written on its side was stolen Tuesday night or early Wednesday early morning has not been located. Its California license plate reads 10913H1.

A white 1990 Ford was stolen some time between Wednesday night and Thursday morning, but was recovered at 9 a.m. Feb. 27 in the 4600 block of Adobe Road. The tools and equipment from the truck's utility boxes were stolen.

The police are asking owners of similar vehicles to take extra precautions to secure the truck and report any suspicious activity.

Anyone with information about these thefts is asked to contact officer Bill Baseman at 781-1210.
