Man arrested for kicking police officer

A 31-year-old Petaluma man was arrested early Monday morning after he allegedly tried to punch and then kicked a Petaluma Police officer.

Police were called to a residence on Almanor Street and Eagle Park at 3:09 a.m. by a report of a man causing a disturbance in a home. Officers found Jordan Robert Hope outside and walking away from the home. Police said when Hope was told to stop, he ran away from the officers, leading them on a foot chase toward Eagle Park. According to police, during the incident Hope attempted to punch one of the pursuing officers and kicked him in the leg.

Hope was arrested, examined at Petaluma Valley Hospital and booked at Sonoma County jail for resisting arrest and battery on a peace officer.
