Woman wanted for stealing Buddha

In an act that definitely won't win her any Karmic points, an unknown female suspect stole a statue of Buddha from the front porch of a home in the 500 block of Almanor Street.

The incident occurred Jan. 17, about 8:22 p.m., and was captured on the homeowner's security camera. The woman can be seen walking up the driveway, snatching the 1.5-foot sculpture and taking off into the night. She is believed to be associated with a subject driving a white SUV with a sunroof.

The victim didn't provide stills from the surveillance camera to the Petaluma Police Department until February. Thus far, the police have not been able to identify the suspect, who is wanted on misdemeanor charges of petty theft.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Petaluma Police Department at 778-4372.
