Man allegedly sought sex from teenager

Petaluma police are warning the public to be on the lookout for an older white male who engaged in inappropriate conversations with a female student on April 3.

Last Thursday, a 16-year-old student was walking away from Petaluma High School when she passed a man sitting on a bench near the D Street Bridge. The man engaged the girl in conversation, and then allegedly asked her if she would have sex with him.

The victim immediately left the area and no further incidents were reported. The man is described as being Caucasian, about 60 years of age who was approximately 6-feet tall with a heavy build. The student could not remember what the man was wearing.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Petaluma Police Department at 778-4372.
