A Santa Rosa woman was arrested at gunpoint Saturday afternoon after a Petaluma police officer spotted her driving a stolen car, police officials said.

The officer was on patrol on Vallejo Street in Petaluma just after noon when he saw a black Dodge Durango and recognized it as having been stolen recently in Rohnert Park, said Sgt. Marty Frye.

Officers pulled over the driver on Vallejo Street and arrested Tabetha Marie Slay, 38.

Slay admitted to stealing the vehicle in June, Frye said.

It was given back to its owner, Frye said.

She was arrested on suspicion of vehicle theft and possessing a stolen vehicle and taken to the Sonoma County Jail, Frye said.

Bail was set at $10,000.
